The purpose of this post is to highlight some of my favorite urban spaces in Barcelona and get a better understanding of what makes these spaces so wonderful and successful. I am using the term Urban space here to indicate any space, facility, street, plaza, buildings, or infrastructure that is open to the public free of charge. As such, this excludes very popular icons and tourist destinations such as the inside of the Sagrada Familia. However, this does not exclude the free park just outside the doors of the Cathedral.
